In modern times, in our urban society the real problem of space implies environmental issues. In developing countries the adjustment to modern ways is problematic and consequently of major concern in my work. I am reorganizing space and form in my work. This signifies the realization of an urban space in ecological harmony with human and the environment, matter and consumer. Apart from such contextual content, I have given emphasis on the idea of combining text and various things from the consumer world. They are not random but calculated, essential and precise.
The product and commercial advertisement of multinational companies have made a great impact on our consumer society and urban life. The rapid increasing demand for products has supported the concept and practice of globalization, which also has brought the countries across the world closer to share the ideas and business. Mostly it is acting optimistically as a force to break down all political and religious boundaries except few problems with the time. We live in the most complex period of human history. In the past two hundred years we have made advances in science, industry, democratic government and the status of women than in all the previous centuries taken together. At the very same time we have carried out the worst genocides, caused the most ecological destruction, and inflicted the most grinding and relentless poverty and pandemic ever seen on this planet.
Each and every day our urban society is going through a challenge. Industrial pollution, global warming, political violence & torture have already crossed over an alarming threshold. Scarcity of urban space, horror of biochemical war and risk of cyber attack are real threat of human existence. Apart from these, I am very much concerned for the problems of human trafficking, terrorism, cross border infiltration, political dichotomy, and ethnic conflict. All these global problems always raise ethical questions in my mind, which works as a source of my creative engagement.
Digital world is dominating our modern society, video jumps from image to image seems normal. We are familiar with the technique and the rapid changes match our own channel hopping, endlessly fragmented lives. But that style of our art and our enjoyment of it, are quite recent developments and both are the gifts of the avant-garde. All these actually motivate me to push the boundaries of work from its process and techniques to its expressive possibilities.
I use various plastic products; from baby food container to blood transfusion tube to establish the harmfulness of such modernized intrusions in contemporary life. Besides combining industrial and ready-made objects, I also incorporate photograph, newspaper, digital and video projection. The physical space with all its dynamism is translated into my work and navigates my objectives in a multi-dimensional contemporary urban evolution.
